Petland Richmond team members recently assisted a local cat rescue with the help of a donation from Petland Charities.
Amy Smith, founder of Whiskers Rescue and Foster Inc. Nonprofit Organization based in Richmond, Indiana accepted the $500 donation after Petland team members Kodee Pennington and Ashley Carey reached out on her behalf.
“It was a pleasure to be able to help out a local rescue that does so much for our community. Amy goes out of her way to give the kittens/cats that come into her care the highest quality vet care possible and so much love! I’ve seen firsthand how much she does for the community animals and it genuinely warms my heart.” Said Pennington, Richmond Sales Manager.
“Amy has done a lot for animals in need and goes above and beyond getting them everything that they need. She is always putting the animals before herself. I'm so glad we are able to provide some help especially right now since she has taken in a few bottle baby kittens.” Said Carey, Petland Richmond Store Manager.
Whiskers Rescue opened three years ago and with Smith’s mission of aiding sick and injured cats and kittens of Richmond. Smith said this donation will go towards six kittens in her foster care that needs immediate vet care as well as spay and neutered.
Smith added that she has always been grateful for Petland as she has seen first hand how much Petland helps in her community.
